“Wow, okay. These are great tips. Which one should I start following?…hmm..”

*5 minutes later*

And I ended up watching Whose Line Is It Anyway on youtube after barely finishing reading an article about 9 power foods that boost your immune system from prevention.com.

They say laughter is the best medicine, so I watched a comedy show instead.

It’s not that I think their tips are boring or ineffective. It’s just how we are nowadays.

Our attention span is not that long, to begin with. Mind you; I did read 3/4 of the article after learning that foods like Yoghurt, Barley, Oats, and Mushrooms will boost our immune system.

Furthermore, I’m quite relieved that I have been eating healthy foods, but why do I always feel sick and tired?

Have you guys ever thought of that before?

You thought you are living a healthy lifestyle, but do you still feel a lack of energy and focus at work or school? You still sneeze a lot from time to time and urgh.. that annoying headache won’t go away.

Maybe..Just maybe you are not really doing these three things the way it should be done.

 

Some of us, well all of us should be missing a lot on sleep nowadays. Ever since PokemonGo came out probably(No. I don’t play PokemonGo.).

Then that is your answer to why you feel a lack of energy and having a weak immune system.

Let’s think about it for a moment…

What would you get if you have poor eating habits? -> Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Diseases, Digestive Problems, Poor immunity, Poor focus.

What would you get if you have a poor sleep? -> Same stuff

What happens when you don’t move at all? -> Same..frightening stuff

You see the pattern here? If you don’t, you must be one stubborn guy. Only God can help you.

3 Ways To Improve Your Immune System

1) Don’t just eat less. Eat right

Did you know that 70% of our immune system is located in the digestive system?

This is because of the enormous amount of things we take in that are always being processed and filtered. They are considered foreign objects to our body, it is only natural for it to filter which are good ones and bad ones.

If you consume good things like foods high in antioxidants, vitamins, polyphenols, your immune system will go “Oh well, these are good stuff. I should stay relax” but what if you take in foods high in trans fats, saturated fats, Sugar, Food chemicals(MSG)? Your immune system will go “CODE RED! I REPEAT CODE RED!” and activates all its warriors to defend the body from the bad intruders.

Your immune system will eventually get imbalance and as a result, it will cause inflammation which will make you feel unwell.

Inflammation is now one of the causes of diabetes, obesity,high-blood pressure and much more.

 

2) Sleep like a baby.Wait, don’t. A baby sleep too much.

Unless it is on a weekend, well if you have been owing lots of sleep time, go on throw your alarm clock, smash it and just sleep. Let your body do its own recovering to the fullest.

Sleep is like letting the computer shutdown, update its old software and clear off all viruses. Feeling sleepy is like your computer prompting you to restart for updates. Like you know that annoying pop up “Your computer needs to be restarted to complete the following updates. Restart Now. Later. 2 hours later. 24 hour later”.

I used to be a hardcore gamer.I’d press “later”.Like all of the time. Until somehow it has a mind of its own and.. “wadda…who told you to restart without my permission!!!”

Try your best to work on this one. Lack of sleep, in the long run, is not something we should overlook. It is one of the causes of chronic diseases.

So I’m not going to tell you to have 7-8 hours of sleep for a full recovery. Some might say that’s not true.Some would think it’s impossible.

Whatever your excuse is, I’m still going to advise you just to have enough sleep ok?

 

3) Move! Like your lives depend on it.

At work, you sit. Go back home, you sit. Go out with family, you still sit.

We spend too much time sitting and while I’m writing this I actually stood up for a stretch because it took me almost 2 hours to write this post.

Stop sitting. Move your body.

Go out. Catch some rare Pokemon that are 3-5km away.

Breathe in fresh air(not like its fresh but still..). Play sports. Go for swim or jog.

Let your cat or dog run free and chase after them. Let your kids run free and let them chase after you.

Heck, if I’m the president of the world I’ll make every office people wear Underarmour shirts with compression pants in the office and give them each skipping ropes and a Fitbit. They must burn at least 200 calories per day to have a full salary.
